Paws Thrissur received a call from Alphonsa (a member of PAWS Thrissur) on 01.01.13, to say that a cat had fallen into a well at Mannuthy and had to be rescued. Preethi, Sally and her friend Rejith at-tended the case and spent one hour to get the kitten out of the well. It was famished but had no other evident in-jury or illness. It was released on the spot after we gave it some food.

PAWS Thrissur received a call on 14.01.13 to say that a german shepherd was found abandoned at Aluva for the past few days. Mr Jose who informed us , had been feeding it. The case was attended by Sreejith who showed the dog to Dr Vinuji (govt veterinary hospital), started treat-ment for the wound on his dorsal side and then handed it over to Saneesh on the same day. He was renamed Tommy.

Preethi received a call from Vinu(Triprayar) on 16.01.13 to say that a great dane had been found abandoned there for the past one and a half months. He was a friendly dog, had a big gaping wound on his right fore limb, haematoma on his right ear and oedema on his hind legs, proba-bly due to microfilaria. She and Ullas attened the case on 19.01.13 at trip-rayar. This was the first case attened-ed after receiving the ambulance do-nated by The Canine Club of Thrissur. The dog was rescued and taken for treatment to the Kokkalai veterinary hospital and treatment was started. He is now under treatment. The heamatoma was cured, but the swell-ing on his hind limbs remains.
