Why
should I
foster a pet?
Take home a package of Joy!! If you are unable to full-time commit to owning a pet, you can help us by fostering a pet! You provide a happy home for our animal(s), for a fixed duration till they find their forever home.
People very often get confused between adoption and fostering. Here’s a small note on the difference between the two.
Fostering:
- Can be done at your convenience as and when it suits you.
- We will take care of the treatment (timely hospital visits and review) and expenses of treatment (including vaccination and sterilisation).
- We are at liberty to take away the animal at any time/ hand over to someone else/ give it up for adoption considering what’s best for the animal.
- We can give you an animal of your choice.
- We are responsible for the animal.
Adoption:
- It’s a lifetime commitment (as long as the pet’s life).
- You will be responsible for all required treatment including sterilization and vaccination.
- Once adopted, we will not take the animal back, so think well before you adopt.
- You will need to opt for paid boarding facilities when you travel.
Finding foster homes is not easy, though we did manage to get some foster homes and raise a lot of awareness with our online foster campaign called, ‘Foster a Pet, Save a Life’ campaign 2020, which was endorsed by a number of artists from the Malayalam film fraternity, including K.S Chitra, Manju Warrier, Bhavana and many others.
