It had been a while since we had planned to start an operation theatre facility at our shelter  but we were faced by a number of hurdles, lack of funds being the main issue. Generous individuals helped us over come this and set up a beautiful operation theatre with all the latest facilities. We wasted no time to start sterilization surgeries at our shelter, for the rescued animals, after treatment, before they were released back in their territories. We had one of the best surgeons in the state, Dr (Maj) Sudheesh Nair , Assistant Professor, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, join us as a consultant surgeon to conduct regular surgeries. We were able to get our animals sterilized faster than waiting for dates for surgery at the university hospitals of Kokkala and Mannuthy.
